welcome membership details
The World Road Association (WRA) of the United Kingdom (UK) is a separate, but affiliated organisation, representing the interests of the World Road Association (also known as PIARC) in the UK. There are currently around 100 members, made up of individuals and organisation from across the road transport sector. These include the UK government, the construction industry, local highway authorities, research institutions and retired professionals. Common to all members is an interest in roads or road transport.

One of the principal roles of the WRA UK is to disseminate information from the international organisation to the UK. It also supports developing countries by sharing UK expertise and supporting attendance at international committees.
Members of WRA UK automatically become members of WRA. This means that they receive news of the technical activities of WRA, and are eligible to apply to become involved in the work of its Technical Committees. These 20 Committees carry out the work set in WRA's four-year Strategic Plan and report back to the quadrennial World Road Congress. Members are eligible to attend Congress. The next one will be held in 2007 in Paris, France. Further information will be available in the near future.
